Emma wanted to keep the space simple and classic, but with a fun twist - and our hand painted Wilding tiles offer just that. "I love that they have a decorative intricacy without being overly detailed, and adore the border tiles for the same reason - the pattern is simple yet beautiful" she says. The addition of a border around the wall behind the bath completes the look, mirrored by the same border pattern used behind the sink for a cohesive look. The rustic, hand-painted tiles interspersed with plain tiles create interesting features across the main bathroom wall.

Emma finished her Wilding tiles with the Wilding border tile around the edges of the wall.

She continued the look behind the sink with a delicate splashback using the same nhand-painted border patterned tiles. The walls are painted in a soft pink from Edward Bulmer called Cuisse De Nymph Emue.

The room is accessorised with light shades made from Chelsea Textiles fabric and a wooden bobbin mirror from Alfred Newall.

Emma restored the original Cotswold stone aroud the window and left it visible for texture and interest

Read Emma's story

Emma Diaz and her husband moved into their home, a Georgian cottage in the Cotswolds, eight years ago. They have spent the past six years renovating it themselves: knocking down walls, extending, replastering, decorating, and recently adding some of our hand painted tiles to their charming bathroom.
