If you want an elegant but rustic kitchen or dining space , you’ll love this scheme, created by Harriet and Oli for their Victorian terraced home in London.
To create this look Harriet selected rustic skinny metro tiles from the Kennet collection, named Winterbourne. These gentle off-white tiles bring soft texture and warmth to the space with a rustic, artisanal quality. She combined these with our classic York Flag stone effect porcelain floor tiles. "We wanted something durable and classic, and these tiles were the perfect fit," Harriet notes. "They felt like they truly belonged to the building — they have a timeless quality, as though they have been there for years."
Finally, she used our rustic Ullswater Willow tiles as a splashback behind her sink, referencing the same tiles used in her bathroom for a sense of flow and cohesion throughout their home.

The antique brass wall lighting ensures gentle light around the space on grey days and in the evenings. Try the Ripple wall light from Pooky for a similar look.
The couple's rustic neutral kitchen provides the perfect backdrop to add colour and refresh the space with minimal effort.
The warm white Kennet Winterbourne tiles have been vertically stacked to give the illusion of more height.
The sink area is finished with a row of rustic Ullswater Willow tiles. An aged brass tap such as the Celeste tap from Lusso is the perfect addition here.
Realistic York Flag porcelain flagstones look as though they have always been there. Add texture and warmth to the floor with a hardwearing jute rug, such as the Aftas rug from La Redoute.

The tiles have the artisanal, handcrafted quality we were looking for. Because of the way tiles from the Kennet collection are made, each one is unique and they have so much character, which really drew us to them.
