Breakfast in Paris: introducing the Patisserie collection

Bringing Parisian charm to your kitchen

There's a certain magic to a morning in Paris. The golden glow of sunlight on cobblestone streets, the quiet clink of coffee cups, the soft chatter of locals at their favourite curbside café…

Ever dreamed you could capture that ambience and bring it home? Our Patisserie collection of hand painted, patterned tiles, will transform your kitchen into a space that whispers of leisurely mornings and effortless elegance. A slice of Parisian life, right where you make your morning toast.

This new collection features three delicate vintage patterns, each lovingly painted by hand in smooth, swooping brushstrokes. Each pattern is available in your choice of five colourways: pretty Sage Green, Earthy Rose pink, a classic Grey Blue, a Warm Umber brown, and a nuanced Charcoal. Each hue has been thoughtfully created to harmonise with beloved colours from our Contemporary Classics collection, as well as our favourite artisan house paint brands, helping you to create a palette for your home that would elicit an approving nod from even the most discerning Parisienne.

Curious about the patterns? Pull up a chair (preferably a charming café chair), and let us introduce you to Elodie, Madeleine and Colette

Madeleine captures the delicate beauty of lace tablecloths fluttering in the breeze outside quaint bistros.

Elodie has a certain chic nonchalance, bringing to mind the charm of time-worn patterned tiles that adorn the doorways of neighbourhood boulangeries.

And Colette? She embodies the intricate ironwork of those exquisite Parisian balconies, perfect for early morning people-watching and evening aperitifs.

Each tile, an objet d‘art

Each tile is a little work of art, painted to your order. Our artisans paint every brushstroke by hand onto the tile's unfired glaze — a technique that demands exceptional skill and results in something truly extraordinary. This meticulous process captures the natural movement of the artist's hand, infusing each brushstroke with a fluidity that mass production simply can't replicate. Once painted, the tile is fired, but the artistry doesn't stop there.

In Paris, it's often the little imperfections that add the most charm: a softly faded awning, a slightly crooked iron staircase, the rich patina of a vintage brass doorknob. Our Patisserie collection embraces this philosophy. The glaze is carefully crafted to shatter in a controlled way as it cools, creating an organic network of fine cracks that have a beautiful delicacy. This gives each tile unique character and creates a sense of lived-in elegance.

While these tiles are a natural fit for kitchens, they’re equally beautiful in a bathroom — picture them within a shower niche or shelf for example, or floor to ceiling behind a clawfoot bathtub.

Each hand painted tile measures 13x13 cm, and each colourway has at least one perfect companion amongst the plain coloured tiles from our Contemporary Classics collection, which are available in matching sized 13x13 cm squares or 13x6.3 cm bricks. This opens up a world of design possibilities. Perhaps you’ll combine hand painted tiles above a dado with their plain counterparts below? Magnifique!

Your home, your story

Whether you're renovating your kitchen, updating your bathroom, or simply looking for that perfect accent for your space, choosing tiles from our Patisserie collection is so much more than a practical decision. It’s about creating a space that entices you to linger over your morning espresso, to savour each bite of your pain au chocolat, and which invites you to start your day with just a little more joie de vivre.
